Carlos, Branch and Nechyporuk cap off the final month of the 2026 season with championship-winning performances

The final month of the 2026 Ontario Premier League men’s season delivered decisive performances and plenty of silverware for August’s Three Stars.

From an eight-goal month in OPL1, to a championship-clinching clean sheet in OPL2 and a young standout making his mark across multiple levels at Woodbridge, Jacob Carlos, Deandre Branch and Ivan Nechyporuk finished the campaign on a high.

Jacob Carlos – Scrosoppi FC (OPL1)

Jacob Carlos, 25, saved some of his best football for the final stretch, scoring eight goals in August as Scrosoppi FC captured the 2026 OPL1 Men’s title.

Carlos played a major role in a title race that went down to the wire, with Scrosoppi ultimately finishing one point ahead of Woodbridge Strikers.

Carlos delivered when the championship was there to be won, scoring twice in Scrosoppi’s title-clinching victory. His brace, alongside a clean sheet from teammate Cuba Grant and the Scrosoppi back line, helped secure the result the club needed to finish atop the table.

Deandre Branch – Master’s FA (OPL2)

With the OPL2 Men’s championship coming down to the final day, Deandre Branch and the Master’s FA defence delivered when it mattered most.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper kept a clean sheet in the title-clinching match, helping Master’s secure the 2026 OPL2 championship by a single point despite playing a portion of the contest down a player.

The performance capped a season defined by defensive strength for Master’s, who conceded just 21 goals across 22 matches — the best defensive record in OPL2.

Ivan Nechyporuk – Woodbridge Strikers B (OPL3)

Ivan Nechyporuk began August by lifting the OPL3 Men’s championship with Woodbridge Strikers B, earning MVP honours in the Final as the side completed an undefeated season.

Registered with Woodbridge’s U-20 side this season, Nechyporuk regularly made the jump into the club’s senior teams and spent much of the campaign competing in OPL1.

His OPL3 Final performance earned him another opportunity just days later. With the OPL3 season complete, the then-17-year-old was called up for Woodbridge’s OPL Men’s Cup Final against Master’s FA, starting and playing the full match in a 3-2 victory.

Nechyporuk, who turned 18 in late August, closed the month as an OPL3 champion, OPL3 Final MVP and OPL Cup champion.

Carlos, Branch and Nechyporuk each played a defining role in championship success during August, bringing the 2026 OPL men’s campaign to a fitting close and earning recognition as the season’s final OPL Men’s Three Stars.
