Pickering FC Clinch OPL2 Women’s Title, Secure Promotion
The 2026 champions become the first OPL title winners of the season and will compete in the OPL1 Women’s division in 2027
Pickering FC are the 2026 OPL2 Women’s C-H-A-M-P-I-O-N-S!
The league leaders officially clinched the title on Saturday with a commanding 5-2 victory over Unionville Milliken SC, securing the championship with one regular season match still to play.
Brianne Desa struck twice in the opening eight minutes before Hope Windebank added a brace of her own in the 34th and 66th minutes. Jessica Emmerton rounded out the scoring in the 81st minute as Pickering celebrated a title-clinching performance.
The victory moved Pickering to 40 points through 15 matches, with a 13-1-1 record. Sitting nine points clear of second-place Hamilton United, Pickering cannot be caught, sealing both the OPL2 Women’s championship and promotion to the OPL1 Women’s division for the 2027 season.
Pickering become the first OPL champions to be crowned during the 2026 campaign, with the remaining divisional titles still to be decided in the coming weeks.
The club’s official trophy presentation and championship celebration will take place at a later date.
