WATCH: Spizzirri scores Woodbridge’s first CanChamp goal

Defending OPL 1 men’s champions Woodbridge Strikers made their debut in the TELUS Canadian Championship on Friday night, in Laval against Canadian Premier League side FC Supra du Québec.
Although Woodbridge ultimately bowed out of the tournament at the hands of the pro club, it wasn’t without putting up a fight.
Midway through the first half, Jacob Spizzirri scored with a laser beam from distance to equalize at 1-1.

Spizzirri’s goal was the first scored by a PSLC side in the Canadian Championship since 2024, and the first by an OPL club since Vaughan Azzurri against the Halifax Wanderers back in 2019.
