Wilde, Domingos named OPL Coaches of the Month for April

The Oakville and Scrosoppi coaches made a major impact in the first month of the season.

After a thrilling first few weeks of the Ontario Premier League season, the Coach of the Month for both the men’s and women’s competitions have been selected.

Oakville SC head coach Duncan Wilde has been named men’s Coach of the Month, while Scrosoppi FC’s Luis Felipe Domingos earned the nod on the women’s side.

Wilde, who has been coaching Oakville for more than a decade, has ensured his team hasn’t missed a beat to begin 2026. They have a 2-0-1 record in OPL 1 after three regular season games, and beat defending champions Woodbridge Strikers as well as North Toronto Nitros.

Oakville also advanced to the OPL Cup quarterfinals, beating FC London in a dramatic comeback victory thanks to Brandon Duarte’s 89th-minute winner.

The club finished fifth in the OPL top flight a year ago, and now they’re aiming to challenge for the title in 2026.

Meanwhile, Domingos has steered Scrosoppi’s women’s side to a great start to the campaign in OPL 1, with two wins and six points from their three games.

Scrosoppi produced impressive wins against Vaughan Azzurri and North Mississauga, and they eliminated Burlington SC in the first round of the OPL Cup.

Domingos has been with the Scrosoppi organization for several years now, and helped the women’s team win last season’s OPL 2 title, earning promotion to the top flight. Now, in the club’s first month in OPL 1, they’re establishing themselves as a title threat already.
