Earlier today, Canada Soccer announced the 24-player roster selected to represent Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team (CANWNT) at the 2026 edition of the SheBelieves Cup, presented by Visa.
The competition marks Canada’s fourth appearance at the SheBelieves Cup and will feature a Concacaf versus CONMEBOL dynamic, with Canada set to face the United States, Colombia and Argentina across three venues in the United States. All four nations sit inside the top 30 of the FIFA Women’s World Rankings, presenting three high-level tests during the international window.
Among the 24 players selected are 10 players with ties to competitions operating under the Premier Soccer Leagues Canada (PSLC), formerly League1 Canada, umbrella.
The PSLC-affiliated players named to the squad include:
- Gabrielle Carle, Defender (Dynamo de Québec*, 2018)
- Annabelle Chukwu, Forward (NDC Ontario, 2022–2024; Ottawa South United SC, 2025)
- Melissa Dagenais, Goalkeeper (FC Sélect Rive-Sud*, 2018; Pierrefonds FC, 2021)
- Vanessa Gilles, Defender (West Ottawa SC, 2017)
- Kaylee Hunter, Midfielder (Calgary Blizzard SC, 2023; Whitecaps FC Girls Elite, 2023–2024)
- Emma Regan, Midfielder (TSS FC Rovers, 2018; Varsity FC**, 2022)
- Jade Rose, Defender (Unionville Milliken SC, 2017; NDC Ontario, 2022)
- Olivia Smith, Forward (North Toronto Nitros, 2022)
- Evelyne Viens, Forward (Dynamo de Québec*, 2018–2019)
- Holly Ward, Forward (Varsity FC/Nautsa’mawt FC**, 2022–2023; Burnaby FC, 2024)
* Dynamo de Québec and FC Sélect Rive-Sud competed in the Première Ligue de soccer du Québec, which joined what was then League1 Canada in 2022 and rebranded as Ligue1 Québec in 2023.
** Varsity FC, rebranded as Nautsa’mawt FC in February 2023, competed in the British Columbia Premier League, formerly League1 British Columbia, during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
The continued presence of PSLC-affiliated players at the senior international level reflects the strength of Canada’s pro-am pathway and its role in supporting athlete progression from the semi-professional environment to the international stage.
Matches will be played across three U.S. venues, with Canada opening against Colombia on Sunday, March 1 in Nashville, Tenn., before facing the United States on Wednesday, March 4 in Columbus, Ohio and Argentina on Saturday, March 7 in Harrison, N.J.
Matches will be available to watch on OneSoccer, with CanWNT broadcasts featuring full pre- and post-game analysis shows.
